8 DAYS PRIVATE TANZANIA AND ZANZIBAR
Day 1: Arrival
On arrival at Kilimanjaro international airport meet our representative & privately transfer to Planet Lodge in Arusha for overnight. Later our safari manager will come for detailed safari briefing & leave you to relax & enjoy the rest of your day at the lodge.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National park
After breakfast at your lodge depart for Tarangire National Park via Arusha city for any last minute purchase. The driving is along Masai steppe & villages, this park is located along the Great Northern highway and it runs along Tarangire river attributes and it is made up of small hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its main vegetation consisting of huge African Baobab trees and scattered acacia woodland and a swamp areas in the south.
Tarangire River and the swamp are the valuable source of water in the park and refugee area for larger number of animal species during the dry season. The park is highlighted with some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This park is also home to some rare animal species like Great Kudu, Fringed-eared Oryx and the Ash Starlings.

Day 3: Tarangire – Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti
After early breakfast “The private safari in Tanzania takes you to Ngorongoro Crater via the high lying farmlands of Karatu & many villages up to Ngorongoro gate, after park formalities drive up to Crater view point 2,300meters for some nice pictures of the crater floor from the rim. Then descend 600 meters into the Crater floor for nice game drive.
Ngorongoro Crater is a remarkable wildlife sanctuary and UNESCO’s World Heritage, the crater is sometime referred by many as the 8th wonders of the world. As very few animals moves in and out of the crater with its 600 meters high walls, you can expect to spot lions, leopard, hyenas, jackals, elephants, zebras, hippos & the rare black rhino. Many bird species can be seen in the crater like flamingos, ibises, goose, ostrich & others. After lunch start your way out & drive to Serengeti National Park (Option), on the way visit one of Masai village whereby some Masai warriors invites you & take you in & around their houses with some stories of their nomadic life around this area.
You will meet kids & other family members, you can ask any question & take pictures with them. Later they will sing a farewell song which involves dancing & jumping high. Afterward drive further & reach Naabi gate in late afternoon, after some park formalities start the sunset game drives in the Serengeti in search of Wildebeest Migration. Reach the central Serengeti during sunset.

Day 4: Full Day Game Drives in Serengeti
On this day, our style African safari tours in Serengeti we take you for an early morning game drive starts at 6:30 (leave with breakfast box & lunch box), early morning game drive allows you to witness the sunrise in the Serengeti plains and sport most of the cut family on the road as they avoid the morning mist.
You may also see some other predators coming back from their long night of hunting and sometime eating or playing along the road. You may expect to see a lot of animal actions like fighting and sometime killing. If the Wildebeest Migration will be in Serengeti you will spend much of your game drive following their movement. Late afternoon during or before the sunset drive back to the lodge for dinner & overnight.

Day 5: Serengeti – Zanzibar Islands
After breakfast, drive to Soronera airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar, wit en-route game drive reach the airstrip at least a half an hour before the flight. Arrive in Zanzibar, meet our representative and transfer to Ocean Paradise Beach Resort on the North east of the island. Dinner and breakfast included.

Day 6 and 7: Zanzibar Beach Holidays
Relax and enjoy the white sand beaches of Zanzibar, various water sport can be arranged at your resort or you may visit the Stone town & do some excursion, see Zanzibar Islands tours page. Breakfast and dinner included.
Overnight at Ocean Paradise Beach Resort on the North east of the island. Dinner and breakfast included.
Day 8: Departure Transfer
After breakfast you will be transfer to Zanzibar airport to catch your flight back home (depending on your flight time, you can do our famous stone town tour or the Spice tour before going to the airport, please see our Zanzibar tour page.
If you depart from Dar es Salaam international airport a domestic flight will be needed. The best private safari in Tanzania safari & Zanzibar beach ends up here. Karibu Sana!

What’s included
All our trips on Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro include the following, which is covered in the cost of the trip.
- Mountain guide, cook, and porters

- All park fees.
- The Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) charges various fees for activities within the park. Some of these fees include: conservation fee (entry fee?), rescue fee, camping (or hut) fee. We include all the park fees in the cost of your trip.
- Transportation
- We will transport you from Kilimanjaro International Airport to your hotel upon arrival, and we will bring you back to the airport at the end of your trip. (If you don’t require this service, we can offer a reduction on the cost of your trip.)
- We will transport you from your hotel to the start point of your trek and return you to your hotel after your climb.
- Food and water while on the mountain:
- 3 meals per day.
- Treated drinking water. Water is drawn from natural sources during the climb and we filter and use chlorine / iodine (boil?). While we are confident our water is safe to drink, many climbers prefer to bring their own treatment methods, which you are free to do.
- Health and Safety equipment
- Satelite phone? Or other communication?
- Oximeter. Used to measure blood oxygen levels.
- First Aid Kit. (what’s included?) Note, climbers are expected to bring their own first aid kit to treat minor injuries.
- Emergency oxygen tank (and mask etc?0
- Hotel accommodations
- 2 nights of hotel accommodations are included. The night before your climb and the night after.
- For Mount Kilimanjaro treks, your hotel will be located in either Arusha or Moshi. We will consider the proximity to the entrance and exit gates of the chosen route as well as the rest of your itinerary.
- For Mount Meru, your hotel will be in Arusha.
- Your hotel will be a mid-range option; we will include the specific hotel details in your quote. If you prefer either a luxury hotel or budget hotel, we can easily accommodate that.
What’s not included
- Tips
- Tipping is customary on Kilimanjaro and provides a significant proportion of a guide or porter’s salary. We recommend x per day per person. (For example, if a group of 4 climbers treks the 6-day Machame route, the tip should be in the range of xxx USD.
- Some food and drinks are not included:
- Personal snacks that you may wish to eat while hiking. The type of food is personal preference and many of the types of food you are familiar with from your own country can be obtained in Tanzania. (Granola bars, candies, chocolate). We especially recommend having some snacks on hand during the long summit hike.
- Alcohol, soft drinks, bottled water etc. are at your own cost
- Meals eaten at your hotel
- Personal hiking equipment and clothing.
- We will provide a detailed recommended packing list xxx when we give you a quote). Items like your clothing, include cold weather gear and rain gear, hiking boots, sleeping bag, hiking poles, are not included. Some of these items are available to rent at a reasonable cost.
- Personal spending money for souvenirs and discretionary spending
- Travel insurance
- Ensure that your travel medical insurance covers high-altitude hiking up to 5895 metres (Mount Kilimanjaro) and xxx (Mount Meru)
- Coverage should include trip cancellation or interruption. Read your policy carefully

- Your entrance visa. US residents pay $100 USD while most other nationalities pay $50 USD.
- Pre-departure expenses such as passport photos or passport renewal, vaccinations and travel medicine

- Payment method. We currently accept payment by bank transfer. Although our quote will be in USD, we accept payment in either USD or the local currency, Tanzania Shillings. We will provide our bank account details to receive the payment. You should be able to set up a bank transfer via your home bank. There are also many trusted third party transfer services (Wise, World Remit, Xoom, Western Union) who may offer better exchange rates or a more streamlined process. We plan to provide credit card payment in the future, but we’re not there yet.
