6 Days Marangu Route
Marangu Route
The Marangu Route is the oldest and most established path to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Often referred to as the “Coca-Cola Route,” it is the only route that offers hut accommodation instead of camping, making it a popular choice for climbers seeking comfort on the mountain.
The 6-day Marangu Route provides a balanced itinerary with an extra acclimatization day, improving summit success rates compared to the shorter 5-day option. The trail follows a direct path to the summit, passing through lush rainforest, moorland, and alpine desert before reaching Uhuru Peak.
This route is ideal for beginners and those who prefer a more structured and comfortable trekking experience.
Why Choose the Marangu Route
- Hut Accommodation – Sleep in mountain huts instead of tents
- Gradual Trail – Well-defined and easier path
- Comfortable Trekking – Ideal for first-time climbers
- 6-Day Acclimatization – Better success rate than 5-day option
- Classic Route – Historic and well-established trail
